Ed Tech Standard 6-Use telecommunications efficiently and effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interests.
This February newsletter will help prepare the students for the upcoming month. It will also serve as a reminder for parents. I will use a similar format for the other months.
Ed Tech Standard 8-Use tech resources for problem solving and self directed learning
4th Grade music Standard 3 Objective 1- Explore content in art and prints
This worksheet allows students to understand the basics of learning to read music in a fun entertaining way. I will use this in a music classroom to help with memorizing music notes in treble clef. This activity would be particularly enjoyable with a piano to play some the newly learned notes.
Ed Tech Standard 8- Use technology resources for problem-solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities.
4th Grade Physical Education Standard 3 Objective 1- Demonstrate and apply knowledge of physical fitness.
This is a timeline that explains a brief present day and history of sports. This will help students learn about why rules for sports are put in place. It will encourage students to go out and invent a new sport. I would use this activity when teaching students in health class or physical education.

Visual Arts 4th grade Standard 3 Objective 1- Explore content in art and prints
This outlines some of the key figure artists and there artwork. Students are able to see some styles of art and appreciate the many differences. This will hopefully help encourage students to create there own masterpieces. I would use when teaching an art class. It is a helpful tool to review or teach art history.

Science 4th grade Objective 3- humans actions modify the physical environment
This explains how the environment has changed. It helps students understand what they can do to preserve nature. Many people teach about how humans are destroying nature but this teaches how to protect it. This is a good way to review for an upcoming test or just as encouragement to protect the environment.

Science 4th grade Objective 3- humans actions modify the physical environment
This explains how the environment has changed. It helps students understand what they can do to preserve nature. Many people teach about how humans are destroying nature but this teaches how to protect it. This is a good way to review for an upcoming test or just as encouragement to protect the environment.

Utah Core 4th grade Science Standard 3 Objective 1-Identify basic properties of minerals and rocks.
This is a power point reviewing the rock cycle. It shows how much of the Earth is made up of rocks. The students will walk away understanding the differences between the different types of rocks. I would use the power point screen and use this as review or short lecture. I would also allow the students access to this a resource to review for a test or quiz.

Utah Core 4th Grade Health Education Standard 4 Objective 1- Determine how communicable diseases are spread.
Stop the spread of disease in your fourth grade classroom. This brochure explains the way common diseases are spread. I would use this as a handout during flu season to help encourage the students to wash hands and stop the spread of germs. This could also be sent home as a reminder for parents.

Utah Core 4th grade Science Standard 3 Objective 3-Observe the basic components of soil and relate the components to plant growth
This ThingLink creates a visual that will help students understand the basic parts and functions of flowers. This will help students better understand the world around them. This would be best used as a review for students on individual computers. This could also be put on the power point screen and used as a in class review quiz.
Ed Tech Standard 8- Use tech resources for problem solving and self directed learning
Utah Core 4th Grade Science Standard 1 Objective 1- Describe the relationship between heat energy, evaporation and condensation of water on Earth
This glog will be used to create a visual to help the students understand the water cycle. The water we use is very little compared to the water on the Earth. Water is not to be wasted. This would be best used as visual for a lecture. This will help keep the students focused and allow them the opportunity to take notes. This could also be used for individual review for a test or quiz.
